Rock It! Oblik Atelier Double Fold Cuff

Monday, 11 July 2016

The double fold cuff is not your conventional everyday cuff but a bold and sophisticated art piece where the human form acts as a prop, a mere background, for this extraordinary sculptural adornment of delightful wearability. The intimate undulating lines and movements of the cuff symbolises the process of leaving nature untouched and thus allowing it to progress instinctively, resulting in the creation of an unintentional and intuitive object. Most often beauty is predominately found in something that is naturally occurring as opposed to man made objects, resonating well beyond jewellery and into the world around us.

Rock It! Edgy Goddess Cleopatra Cuff by Monica Sordo

Monday, 16 December 2013

It's not everyday where you would describe mundane industrial parts as cutting edge jewellery trend that is simultaneously wearable yet memorable, that is until Monica Sordo came along. Her sleek and distinctive cuff, inspired by nature and metropolitan living, has that visual representation of domination and power, hence naming the cuff Cleopatra, the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, ruler of country and the hearts of powerful men. Enough said.

Set in 18ct gold plated brass with silver spikes; I love how Monica thoughtfully created a cuff that modes to the wearer's arm for the perfect fit, a bold statement jewellery that would offset any outfit for any occasion.

A cuff fitting for a modern goddess. In our mind that is.

Rock it! All in One: Lestie Lee's Fancy Diamond Charms Cuff

Monday, 2 September 2013

9. I've been a staunch admirer of Lestie's jewellery venture for a good few years, from when she was working for Patricia Nicolas to designing her first jewellery collection. I recall the moment when I first spotted her jewellery collection in a magazine and excitedly yelled 'I know her! We used to be in Central Saint Martins foundation year together!' and sounding rather proud by the association. From then on I have been keeping a keen eye on her progress and her wonderful diamond cut themed collection.

...At the risk of sounding like a starstruck fan let's move on shall we.

Her unique interpretation of a diamond faceted cuff in an assortment of shapes and sizes is a delightful play on modern geometry with classic sophistication. Her cosmopolitan upbringing and extensive travels are platforms for her inspiration to create luxury and decorative wearable art. As Treasure's designer of the year in 2012 I am anticipating her next move.

Made in rose gold plated and also available in sterling silver.

Rock It! Katie Rowland's 'Elegance with an Edge' Ishtar Cuff

Monday, 19 August 2013

7. 'Elegance with an edge' is the perfect statement of Katie Rowland's visually stunning and exquisite cuff from the Ishtar collection. Ideally worn just above the wrist, this cuff is empowering and visionary; it would certainly add an extra dimension to any form of attire. The name Ishtar derived from the mythological goddess of love and war; playing upon the strength of modern femininity and femme fatale seductiveness...I mean who wouldn't want to wear a piece of that on their arm?

Made in sterling silver with 18ct rose gold vermeil. Also available in 18ct yellow gold vermeil and sterling silver.
